Cadence Drum & Bugle Corps is an opportunity for children in Surrey and Berkshire to learn the art of music, dance and movement. Our aim is to give any child the chance to learn a skill and perform in front of audiences both locally and nationally. Also to travel the country and make many friends in the marching band world.
Cadence Guildford was formed in November 1996 with 2 members at the first rehersal. We were setup as a feeder corps for the senior corps Cadence Drum & Bugle Corps along with Cadence Reading, Cadences other cadet corps.Since then we have competed in many competitions over the years with serveral 1st places and have been runners up in the cadet class in the DCUK finales 1998 and 1999.
We have also seen serveral members march with the senior corps.
Unfortunatley the senior corps disbanded in May 2005, however the 2 cadet units continue to thrive and hope to one day have a senior corps again.
At present our aim is to train young children to play musical intruments, learn dance in our colour guard, which we then put all together to produce a show, that we perform in the summer months at local fetes and local and national competitions in the cadet class.
